Michael Kamen has often appeared in connection with Pink Floyd. First time when he made the orchestra arrangements for The Wall together with Bob Ezrin in 1979. Kamen recorded the orchestra in New York while Pink Floyd was at the Superbear studios in France, and he didn't actually meet his employers before the work was done. Michael Kamen was called in again to work on the soundtrack for Pink Floyd The Wall a few years later. For The Final Cut, keyboard player Rick Wright was out of the band and in fact replaced by Michael Kamen. Kamen also CO-produced the album.
Kamen has featured on solo projects for both Waters and Gilmour, and he even toured with the Pros And Cons Of Hitch Hiking. At the Knebworth Concert Michael Kamen joined Pink Floyd on the stage and he is also credited for orchestra arrangements on The Division Bell.
Concerto for saxophone was a Michael Kamen concert with David Sanborn on saxophone and special appearances by George Harrison, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Ray Cooper and the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Michael Kamen has also worked with great artists like David Bowie, Kate Bush, Metallica, Liona Boyd and Eurythmics. But he may be most famous for his work as a film composer for several films.

Manager and producer
Andrew King was employed with British Airways when he and Peter Jenner became the first mangers of Pink Floyd from October 1966. They formed a partnership with Pink Floyd called Blackhill Enterprises, named after Jenner and King's farmhouse in Wales. Both stopped as managers for the band after Syd Barrett's exit. At the time they were convinced that Syd Barrett was the only creative force in the band. Andrew King has later produced Battered Ornaments, Third Ear Band and Ian Dury among others.

Stanley Kubrick is one of the most brilliant filmmakers ever. He made only a few films in his life, but most of them are regarded as works of true genius. He has collided with Pink Floyd a few times during the years. In 1971 Kubrick was shooting "A Clockwork Orange". He had heard Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother and asked for permission to use some of it in his film. But Pink Floyd did not agree to this idea, probably because the band would have no control of how the music was going to be used.
In 1997 Roger Waters recorded his album Amused To Death. Waters was eager to use a sampling of a voice from the HAL9000 computer from the film "2001 - A Space Odyssey". The classic science fiction film is directed by Stanley Kubrick based on the book by Arthur C. Clarke. This time Kubrick refused. Instead Waters included a "secret message" recorded backwards in the beginning of the song Perfect Sense part 1. During his 1999/2000 In The Flesh tour, the movie "2001" was shown on a TV-screen on stage.
Stanley Kubrick died shortly after finishing "Eyes Wide Shut". Steven Spielberg finished and directed A.I. Artificial Intelligence - a prject started by Kubrick.
