The Wall-Live in Berlin- 1990

The concert is spectacular and grand-scale. Though some of the performers doesn't fit very well with the music and the concept, and some songs are far renditions of the originals, the theatrical effects, the scenery, the orchestra, the musicians and most of all the emotions are all fantastic. Roger is in good shape too with cheerful performances of One of My turns, Nobody Home, Run Like Hell and In the Flesh (part 2) notably. Chart Position: US: 56; UK 27. US Sales: unknown.

Miscellaneous

• Apparently Sinead O'Connor didn't like the feeling of the show. She said it was only old musicians that were invited and she did bad press to the event on Us television after the show.
• This show has the world breaking record attendance for a concert on earth, it has sold nearly 200,000 tickets and 300,000 people made it to the site eventually when the barriers were let down and people admitted freely.
• There were so many Tv camera and electrical equipment used on the site, that some black outs occurred during the concert, some mikes died during songs and some sound effects didn't work. Some songs like The Thin Ice had to be re-recorded after the concert for both the album and the video.
• This was a non-profit event . All the funds of the show, as well as recipes from the sales of albums and videos, were given to The Memorial Disaster Relief for World Wars victims and their family.
• The show won the Media Event of the year.
