   Hi yall!

Can anyone tell me where to find an FTP site that has a Cubase demo
for the IBM? (please, not the Windows version)

             Thanks, Jim

Subject: Finale 3.0 and ram disks

Can anyone recommend a ram disk program for use with Finale running under
system 7. I have tried RamDisk+. It seems too arcane and prone to crashes.
The old RamDisk on the Apple IIGS worked every time and only had 3 params
to set. There has got to be an init that is just as simple.

Thank you,

p.s. If the Ram ram disk program is available via ftp all the better.

Subject: Help needed with Casio CZ-1 sysex programming

Dear honorable EMUSIC readers,

I am having difficulty programming the Casio CZ-1, using a DOS machine and
a Soundblaster interface. I have no problem sending simple note on/off
commands, and I can also send some sysex commands such as multi on/off.
When it comes to the Receive Request messages (where the computer changes
the CZ-1 patches), I have no success. I know this can be done; I have
done it before using HMSL on an Amiga. Now, I need to do it from my PC clone.

1. Does someone know of software that can do this? FTP-able, please.
2. Even better, does anyone know where I can find info so that I can
solve this problem with my own programming?

Email, please, to kirk-corey@uiowa.edu

1 gig of thanks!

Kirk Corey

Funny, I picked up a JUNO-106 from a pawn shop about a year ago. I got
my manual from Roland ($15 US). They sent a photocopy as they only have
limited copies of the actual manual. Unfortunately it isn't very
informative.

IRCAM has an ftp site: ftp.ircam.fr . You can probably find the mailing address
of their sysadmin here and get in touch with him...

Thanks all who acknowledged my "This is a test" post.

Now for the questions:

1. Ensoniq EPS & microtonality? Experiences, hearsay, joys, horrors?

2. Any knowledge of an old synth album (approx. late 60's) called "The
Zodiac"?

3. Favorite time signature? (just kidding)

4. Any general thoughts on e-music/opera?

Thanks!

Greetings,

I am new to this list so please forgive me if this subject has
been covered before. If so, please direct me to the appropriate archive.

I am looking for MSDOS based music training software. For hardware
I have a 486 PC clone, a Korg DW-8000, and a Roland SCC-1 (Sound Canvas and
MPU-401 MIDI interface on a half-length card). I want to learn to read music
and play fairly simple songs. Hopefully there is software to help me with
drills, timing, basic chord theory, and so forth. I have been playing bass
guitar for a number of years using guitar chords and fake books but never
learned to read music. If anyone has had any similar experiences or other
suggestions (videos, books, etc.), please let me know.

        Thank you for your help.
