Electronic have done one album (and nearly another) called
'Electronic'. Their first single was 'Getting away with it'. Where
'it', I expect, refers to ripping off a Psychedelic Furs song. This
wasn't on the album. I think they then released track one or ten off
the album as a single and then Dissapointed, another PSB collaboration.

'scuse me? "Getting Away With It" is most definitely on the album. The second
single was "Get The Message", the third was "Feel Every Beat"... And
"Disappointed", the latest single they have released, is from the "Cool World"
soundtrack (possibly one of the only redeeming qualities of that movie)...

YOU KNOW, ITS BEEN sooo long since I even heard someone mention the Pet
Shop Boys..They are not such hot stuff in the U.S., but back in the 80s in
India, man, they were on my Top 10!!No, sorry I don't have any info, but I
LOVE *domino dancing*, *suburbia*, and I can't remember the name, but the
lines went.."I've got the brains, you've got the looks. let's make lots of
money.." and *ITS A SIN* ...Cool stuff man!!

"Getting Away With It" was not put on the original Factory album in the UK.
However, in the US, the record company put it on.

"Disappointed" wasn't specifically written for the film 'Cool World' - it was
added to the soundtrack at the last minute after the director heard a promo
copy of the song.

'Getting away with it' IS on the self-titled album (track 5).

I think the problem is that "Getting Away With It" was released on
the North American version, but not on the U.K. version. I've got
the U.K. version and there is only 10 tracks on it, my friend has the -------
U.S. version with 11 tracks, including "Getting Away With It". Don't e Admin
forget about the "Idiot Country Two" remix on the B-side to the 12" ech.edu
release of Disappointed (not on the CD5) and the B-side to Getting
Away With It, whose name escapes me at the moment -- probably the two
best tracks Electronic have released.

I think its called 'Lucky Bag' ??? Maybe not?
I think 'Free Will' is much better than 'Lucky Bag'. It is on the
'Get the Message Right' CD single. How different is 'Idiot Country 2'
from the original. Is it as drastic a change as the 808 state remix of
'Disappointed'. I thank that the 808 state version is a hundred times
better than the original mix.

I think that either THE or at least A British pressing excluded this track...

Anyway, the discography is available at cs.uwp.edu (ftp), or if worse comes
to worse, I have it on file here...

I never quite understood the deal between Electronic and PSB.
Why do they sound so alike? Is this a stupid question?
I never really gave much thought to it until now.
I'd appreciate some clarification.

Considering that Neil Tennant (front man for the PSB) does guest vocals
on a number of tracks (Getting Away With It, Patience of A Saint,
Disappointed, ...) it's not really that surprising. It is a fairly
distinctive voice. So I guess it does make it a fairly stupid question!
