Has anybody been able to do sysex requests/dumps on a Moterey under Windows 95 ?

I can do regular midi I/O through Cakewalk.
I've been trying to do sysex dumps withUnisyn, and get a lot of errors.

I switched to the Music Quest PC midi card, and Unisyn worked just fine.

Does anybody know what the latest driver version for the Monterey is ?

Thanks

Tony

The Multi Media Studio I work for is about to get invovled in Desk top
Video. My boss wants whatever system we get to have compatibility in our
sound room. I am vaguely familiar with Pro Tools/Project and Saw/Saw+ etc.
However, I'm not up on the latest digital video systems.
     I was wondering:
Is compatibility an issue if all the digital video systems have digital
audio? Keeping in mind whether the system was Mac or PC base, shouldn't I
be able to have digital audio software different from the digtal video
software as long as they are saved in the same file format ie WAV?

Also, is anyone familiar with Bars&Pipes Professional by Blue Ribbon
Soundworks, or Tidal Wave by Digtal F/X?

Thanks
Jonathan

MESSAGE FROM THE PROGRAM CHAIR
==============================

As Assets '96 Program Chair, I am pleased to extend a warm invitation to
you to attend ASSETS'96, the 1996 ACM/SIGCAPH International Conference on
Assistive Technologies! This is the second in an annual series of meetings
whose goal is to provide a forum where researchers and developers from
academia and industry can meet to exchange ideas and report on leading edge
developments relating to computer based systems to help people with
disabilities. This year, conference attendees will hear 21 exciting
presentations on state-of-the art approaches to vision impairments, motor
impairments, hearing impairments, augmentative communication, special
education needs, Internet access issues, and much more. All submissions
have undergone a rigorous review process to assure that the program is of
the high technical quality associated with the best ACM conferences, and no
more papers have been accepted than can comfortably be presented in a single
track (no parallel sessions), with ample time included in the schedule for
interaction among presenters and attendees. Come join us in beautiful
Vancouver for a great time and a rewarding professional experience!

I used to use a PAS 16 sound card. I dimly recall that Media Vision
supplied a disk with the card that installs a driver of their own design. I
suggest you dig out that disk and go through the full installation
procedure. Be sure to select Media Vision's driver and add it in "Drivers"
in the Windows "Control Panel." I still have my disk if you've lost yours.
E-mail me if you need further help.

BTW, I switched to a TeleWave Audio 32 wavetable card from TeleVideo
Multimedia. It has a great piano sound but goes out of tune on the high
pitches for certain instruments like guitars. The pitch bends are weird, too.

The two factors to look at are: 1) What is the sound format (.wav, .au,
.ram, etc.) and 2) what is the sampling rate? There are plenty of utilities
to convert from one format to another. But how many hoops will you have to
jump through (i.e., conversions) to get your work done?

Bars & Pipes was originally written for the Commodore Amiga computer and has
been ported to the PC. I've used some of their other products but not B&P.
You might give them a call in Atlanta.

And does anyone use the Session 8 hardware AND an Awe32 in the same PC ?

MESSAGE FROM THE PROGRAM CHAIR
==============================

As Assets '96 Program Chair, I am pleased to extend a warm invitation to you
to attend ASSETS'96, the 1996 ACM/SIGCAPH International Conference on
Assistive Technologies!
All submissions have
undergone a rigorous review process to assure that the program is of the high
technical quality associated with the best ACM conferences, and no more
papers have been accepted than can comfortably be presented in a single track
(no parallel sessions), with ample time included in the schedule for
interaction among presenters and attendees. Come join us in beautiful
Vancouver for a great time and a rewarding professional experience!

Hey Everyone,
I could really use your help.
I asked a question earlier this week and only got one response, but it
was enough to get me thinking about more questions.

I work for a video production house which is about to go non linear
(THANK GOD). I work as the head of the audio department and have been asked
a lot of questions My boss wishes whatever non linear video editor we get
to be compatible with non linear audio editor we purchase. As of today we
have neither non linear audio or video. I am excited about Avid and Plum
becuse they use Digidesign and Saw (respectively) for their audio editing.
     My question for everyone is:

As we shop for a non linear video editor, what question do I need to ask
about the systems non linear audio editor?

killed the message (i was on a computer at a job site and didn't get along

Csound. Do you remember what they were?

thanks,
